When I first saw Claire’s gorgeous porcelain at the Make It craft sale in St.Albert I knew I had to shoot this stuff. Its not only taking something thats vintage and trendy and elevating it to a high end design piece but its functional, and will go as an accessory or accent piece with any decor plan! I think these would make some amazing options for wedding decor instead of the usual clear mason jars! Anyways, not only does she make these stunning jars, but she makes all kinds of amazing jewelry pieces too! Check out her website for more awesome porcelain pieces!
A little bit about Claire & her company, Heyday Design:
Heyday Design is modern porcelain with a vintage beat: meticulously handmade ceramic jewellery and objects that just might be your forever favourite things. Claire Madill graduated from emily carr university of art & design in 2007 and has been elbows deep in plaster, porcelain and entrepreneurship with heyday design ever since. she’s actually quite a neat and tidy person, despite appearances.
Each object is made over the course of 5 separate days involving over 30 steps. check out the video below to see some of the process:
I make ceramic things that look like other things, so often people are very confused about what it is that they’re looking at. I use a process called ‘slipcasting’ and made an informational video to show how I make my work.
